The Journey of Freedom
I wonder what it means to be free,
Is that thunder in the distance, pulling me towards the evil?
Is it expressing your thoughts without any fear?
Is freedom just a front, or is it truly dear?
It seems like
Sin has loosened its grip,
So I’ll give freedom a try, and let my choices take hold.
I’ll ask Jesus to free me from the chains of the past,
Enter freedom, and face my fears at last.
Is that what
makes these chains free,
This love for Christ burning deep?
Maturity on this path of self-discovery,
Brings freedom, a new kind of recovery.
Or is that just a faรงade, and we really aren’t free?
Since we are now bound to Christ for eternity?
What once
loomed large is now in the past,
The shadows of old no longer cast.
Sometimes I forget I was ever bound to sin,
In the light of freedom, where Jesus is found.
I’ve been
running, seeking a guide,
To show the past can’t hold me inside.
Jesus is that guide, the all eternal Savior
Giving us that freedom through His love.
Letting go is tough, but it's the key,
To true freedom in Christ, a new life for me.
Is that what makes these chains so free,
This love for Christ, burning deep?
To begin anew, let go of your pain,
Allow God to lead, through sunshine and rain.
With great joy, I declare and decree,
In this new existence. I am truly free.
